Hi There! 😀 Welcome to Spirit-Led Wellness. My name is Shannon and I am a certified holistic health coach. I help people meet their wellness goals by the teaching them simple and sustainable ways to care for their mind, body, and spirit.
What is Spirit-Led Wellness?
Sprit-Led Wellness is where people and communities learn how to make small incremental lifestyle changes that lead to greater mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. It is where questions are welcome and challenges are overcome together.
What is My Wellness Philosophy?
I believe that true wellness depends on two aspects: primary food and secondary food. Primary food consists of four key areas: spirituality, relationships, career, and physical activity. Secondary food is all the stuff that people eat.
I believe (and there is science to show) that primary food is what truly nourishes a person. When primary food is in balance, then the stuff a person eats can effectively fuel the body and maintain well-being. However, when primary food is unmanageable in some way, then it doesn’t matter how clean or nutritious secondary food is– the food that is eaten will fail to be a fuel that supports wellness.
I have found that change begins in the spirit, expands to the mind, and manifests in the body. When I put the primary food of spirituality first, I experience the greatest wellness. This is one reason why I named my practice Spirit-Led Wellness.
What is My Spiritual Philosophy?
Before you read on, I want to be completely transparent about my own beliefs in terms of my spirituality. I believe in a power greater than myself, whom I know as Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit– three manifestations of one God. I believe that Jesus’ death was a gift, an act of pure love available to all. When I choose to believe in and receive that love, it frees and empowers me to love myself and love others well.
I believe in the unity of the Spirit throughout humanity– among me and you– regardless of our particular philosophy or faith tradition. I choose to focus on the similarities that I have with others rather than the differences. I choose to have an open mind about all spiritual matters and to always seek Truth. I believe that the Spirit moves and speaks to all people regardless of their beliefs.

I have spent the last 10 years healing from spiritual, mental, and physical DIS-ease. I understand the grief, frustration, and shame that come along with poor health and wellness. Plus, my degree in biochemistry and certificate in holistic health coaching have given me the ability to decipher complex health and wellness topics. And, the decade that I spent as a high school science teacher and curriculum developer gave me a passion for helping others like yourself learn and grow.
How Does Spirit-Led Wellness Work?
Three “ingredients” that enable Spirit-Led Wellness to work are honesty, open-mindedness, and willingness. I commit to practicing the following and I ask my clients to do the same.
- Being honest with myself.
- Being open-minded to new ideas.
- Being willing to try different action.
When I let go of the old and practice these three principles, I am LED by the SPIRIT to the right people, the right places, and the right things on my healing journey in the right time. This is another reason why I named my coaching practice Spirit-Led Wellness.
